A7

April 12th, 2012

The Series II model was released around 1987 and retailed for £99. The most obvious difference between the original and series II, is the original purple tweeter has been replaced with an Audex one.

Hi-Fi Choice mentions the following regarding the A7 Series II

[Lab: Average+/Sound: Average-] Lively clear sound; good upper bass and dynamics, but treble “ramp” made vocals sound shut in. Try before you buy.

Hi-Fi Choice – Directory, Jan 1989

Power hungry speakers most suited to simpler styles of music. Drive too hard, however, and sounds coarsens – take care to strike a balance.
