Shake It Up: The Songs of Elvis Costello & The Cars
Presented by Classic Troubadours Productions

Get ready to relive the magic of two of the most iconic acts of the new wave era! Shake It Up: The Songs of Elvis Costello & The Cars is a high-energy live concert experience that celebrates the genius of Elvis Costello and the infectious hooks of The Cars.

The night also pays tribute to The Cars, with electrifying renditions of hits like “Let’s Go”, the atmospheric “Moving in Stereo”, and the irresistible “Just What I Needed.”

Whether you're a lifelong fan or new to the music, Shake It Up is a nostalgic ride through the soundtracks of a generation—performed live by some of Canada’s most gifted musicians.

Séan McCann

Séan McCann, the beloved Canadian troubadour and Order of Canada recipient best known as a founding member of Great Big Sea, is hitting the road for a different kind of tour in 2025—a tour not about charts, fame, or the “American dream”, but about connection, community, and commitment to country. Literally.

In the wake of tightening U.S. visa restrictions, rising touring costs, and the recent cultural backlash from artists choosing to avoid the U.S., McCann is embracing a path less travelled—right here at home. While others are cancelling American dates due to aggressive tariffs and threats to our sovereignty, McCann is leaning hard into Canada, launching his Great Big Canadian Road Trip, a coast-to-coast journey through many towns and cities he’s never played before. “I LOVE Americans!” says McCann. “I love them so much that I even married one, but I won’t return to the states until the current president is gone and our neighbours change their angry tone. In the meantime, I believe that Canada needs a little more singing, and a little less shouting.”

Armed with nothing but his acoustic guitar, his powerful voice, and a lifetime of songs that heal as much as they entertain, McCann will crisscross the country from Sudbury to Victoria and everywhere in between on the first leg of his national journey. This is not about sold-out stadiums or velvet rope green rooms—it’s about parking lots, prayer halls, libraries, and legion halls; places where local people still show up and sing along.

Best known for his stadium-shaking anthems with Great Big Sea, Séan has since carved out a deeply personal solo path, speaking and singing about mental health, recovery, and resilience.

His shows are raw, real, and—above all—relational. “Music is medicine,” he says, “and we all need a dose right now”

This tour is also a celebration of McCann’s independence—not just from the U.S. industry machine, but from the relentless noise of the mainstream. He’s hitting the road to bring music to the people who need it most, in places that don’t always make the tour poster.

The Great Big Canadian Road Trip is about more than than the 10,000 kilometres it will take to make the drive —it’s about finding harmony in a world that feels off-key. It's about reminding Canadians, from Kamloops to Kenora, that their stories matter and their voices count and that together we are strong enough to overcome every challenge we may face as a country moving forward.

Ben Caplan

Ben Caplan has always defied easy categorization. With his deep, commanding baritone and electrifying stage presence, he merges the raw energy of diverse folk traditions with modern innovation. His music isn’t just performed; it’s experienced. Now, with The Flood, Caplan takes his artistry to new depths, crafting an album that meditates on endings, resilience, and the art of carrying wisdom forward.

Scheduled for release in May 2025, The Flood is both timely and timeless. “The world is ending for someone all the time,” Caplan muses. “But endings aren’t absolute. Cultures, ecosystems, civilizations—they evolve, adapt. This album is about finding the pieces that survive and carrying them forward.”

Musically, The Flood is a collision of past and future. Melodically tilted towards the folk traditions of Eastern Europe, the album reinvents these sounds with timeless lyrics and modern production. Clarinet melodies soar over pulsing synthesizers; grand pianos give way to sequenced rhythms. The result is an intricate sonic tapestry—both ancient and urgent.

With nearly 2,000 performances across 27 countries, Caplan’s live shows are known for their raw energy and emotional depth. The Flood is designed with the stage in mind—its seamless transitions and dynamic arrangements promise an immersive concert experience.

“Music holds space for people. My hope is that this project allows listeners to confront the grief of endings, but also find joy in what’s ahead.”

Dan Hill & Andy Kim

Dan Hill - is an international music industry legend and one of Canada’s most distinguished, authentic, and multi-talented artists: Grammy-winner, five time-Juno Award winner, Harold Moon Award, and inducted into the venerated Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame Award . Dan is known for his heartfelt sensibility on two massive international hits, Sometimes When We Touch, recognized as one of the Top 100 Songs of the Century and one of Top 100 Most Played Songs of All Time, and Can’t We Try, which spent 29 weeks on Billboard charts . Dan has produced hit songs for Celine Dion and George Benson, with his compositions being recorded by artists such as Britney Spears, Rod Stewart, The Backstreet Boys, Tina Turner, Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers, and many more His voice is “smooth softness, with a light warmth,” perfectly describing both his original and recent works that fans still gather to enjoy today.

Andy Kim - "I’m excited to share the stage with my dear friend, the multitalented Dan Hill."

In 1969, Andy co-wrote Sugar Sugar - his first Billboard #1 hit. In 1974, Andy wrote a new song called “Rock Me Gently” and absolutely no one wanted to produce it. Andy loved the song, and he wouldn't take no for an answer. He formed his own record company, called !CE, and produced the record on his own. When it was released, “Rock Me Gently” went straight to #1 on the Billboard charts and it remained on the charts for a staggering 4 months. This second #1 Billboard song added to Andy's international success. In 2004, Andy’s collaboration with Ed Robertson of The Barenaked Ladies’ “I Forgot To Mention” gave him another Top 10, and Andy was voted by Canadian Music Week as the Best Solo Indie Artist of the Year.

A true Canadian son, Andy has had 9 top 40 Billboard hits including Baby I Love You. He was recently honoured with the appointment to the Order of Canada. He has been awarded the country’s top industry honours including a Juno award, the Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame and a star on Canada’s Walk Of Fame. Andy is a member of Songwriters Hall of Fame, was inducted into Billboard's Hit Parade Hall of Fame, and in 2017, for the 2nd time in their 70-year history, SOCAN honoured Andy with their Cultural Impact Award. Over his epic career, Andy has sold over 30 million records, and has over half a billion streams on Spotify and YouTube.
