Alex Mackenzie

Alex Mackenzie is taking the comedy world by storm, and his Never Been Better tour proves why.

Mackenzie gave up everything: his house, his job, and even the respect of his family to pursue his stand-up dreams. He has never looked back.

After years of relentless hustle, that gamble is paying off in a big way. As an independent artist from Prince George, BC, Alex has self-produced all of his own shows without the backing of a major label, and the results speak for themselves. With over 100 million views online, a feature on Amazon Prime, sold-out theatres across Canada and Australia, and an arena performance for over 2,000 fans, Alex is proving that betting on yourself can lead to something incredible.

What truly sets Alex apart is the experience he creates. Known as the happiness cheerleader of comedy, his shows feel like you’re hanging out with your best friend: positive, interactive, and full of life.

Every night is unique, with crowd work that makes the audience part of the story, brand-new material woven with deep life lessons, and the unmistakable passion of someone who risked it all to chase a dream.

You might not remember every single joke, but you’ll always remember how it made you feel. Everyone will leave happier than when they arrived, carrying lifelong memories with their loved ones. Even after the lights go down, the joy from this night will stay with you.

Bruce McCulloch

His latest live show, Dark Purple Slice features his trademark dark humor with a warm human heart at the center. It premiered last year in Calgary in a run of 3 shows at One Yellow Rabbit’s High Performance Rodeo. The show, which includes plenty of Bruce’s trademark musical comedy, launches alongside a new record.

Bruce McCulloch, an Albertan punk and son of a salesman, grew up playing hockey, listening to rock music and fist-fighting cowboys. He took business at Mount Royal College and when he predictably got 20% he segued to journalism and started writing funny stories. He soon found himself at Loose Moose Theatre: home of theatre sports (competitive improv), where he met Mark McKinney, and his future was set. They started writing and performing together, later moving to Toronto to “make it.” In Toronto, he and Mark found the other members of The Kids in the Hall, and Bruce built the foundations for a career spanning television, theatre, and film.

In television, Bruce has written and performed in Young Drunk Punk (a series inspired by his own life), Death Comes to Town, and This Blows (web series) all for CBC, and he also created Carpoolers for ABC. He has directed such shows as SNL (on which wh was also a writer), Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Schitt’s Creek, and Trailer Park Boys. Most recently, Bruce directed and produced three seasons of the sketch series, TallBoyz, for CBC. He also wrote and starred in a new season of the Kids in the Hall for Amazon in 2022.

As an actor, he has appeared in numerous Canadian and American television shows such as Saturday Night Live, Arrested Development, Gilmore Girls, Comedy Bang Bang, Workaholics, Nobodies, and even Anne of Green Gables.

Bruce has written or performed several one-man shows including Two-Headed Roommate, Jazz Stenographers, Slightly Bigger, and is currently performing his fourth show Tales of Bravery & Stupidity. He has two spoken word/comedy/music CDs: Shame-based Man and The Drunk Baby Project. He is currently recording his next comedy album, Dark Purple Slice.

Tales will be the basis for his next book. His first book, Let's Start a Riot was released by Harper Collins. Bruce has also contributed to The Moth and has written for The New York Times and Huffington Post.

Bruce has also written and/or directed several films including Dog Park starring Luke Wilson, Superstar starring Molly Shannon and Will Ferrell, Stealing Harvard starring Jason Lee, Leslie Mann and Tom Green, and Comeback Season starring Ray Liotta.

Sophie Buddle & Ali Macofsky

Sophie Buddle and Ali Macofsky are sharp, fearless, and unapologetically original - two rising stars whose stand-up has earned them major buzz on both sides of the border. Buddle has made history as the first woman to win a Juno Award for Best Comedy Album, while Macofsky's quick wit and magnetic presence have landed her on The Joe Rogan Experience, Don't Tell Comedy, and stages across the U.S. Catch them together at Aeolian Hall for a powerhouse double bill of cutting, hilarious, and refreshingly real comedy.

About Sophie Buddle:

She released the album herself so you can find it on iTunes in the genre "easy listening", which was a mistake, but it is easy to listen to, so it's ok. Her podcast "Obsessed with Sophie Buddle", which tackles people's obsessions (from Beyonce to American politics to checking if the door is locked to revenge) is currently available on Apple Podcasts. This provided further opportunities leading Ali to headline venues across the country, as well as open for huge names in the comedy world like Russell Peter and Joe Rogan. Most recently, Ali was named a New Face of Comedy at the Just for Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal. She also just completed a tour opening for rock musician, St. Vincent. Ali's stand up has been featured on Just for Laughs digital receiving over 3 million views and her stand up has been seen on TikTok over 10 million times. She has a popular series on her Instagram (@notalimac) where she talks to strangers online and she hosts a weekly podcast called Resting Bitch.
