The cherished and nostalgic holiday music composed by Vince Guaraldi is equally as magical as the film, especially hits such as “Christmas Time is Here.” Join us this holiday season for a jazz performance with beloved jazz trio Sullivan-Parker-Kettlewell.

Splash'N Boots have been a beloved part of Canadian children’s music for over 20 years, bringing joy, laughter, and connection to families across Canada and internationally. With a mission to connect families through music and love, Splash'N Boots have performed over 3,000 shows, making them a household name in family entertainment. Join El Sistema Aeolian for our upcoming concert at First St. Andrews United Church on Thursday March 7th. We are presenting works performed by all our ensembles, from Beginner to Phrygian Strings, Beginner and Intermediate Cellos, Junior and Senior Choirs, to Brass and Woodwinds and Full Orchestra. Featured works include our most ambitious orchestra piece Finlandia arranged by Brass/Winds instructor Bruce Hoadley, choreographed Glee choir from the musical Annie, and many more.

Splash’N Boots are a beloved Canadian children's music duo consisting of Nick Adams (Splash) and Taes Leavitt (Boots). With 20 years of experience, Splash’N Boots have become a household name, creating music and concert experiences that bring happiness and joy to children of all ages.

Their newest album, I am Love, follows their recent success with their second JUNO Award for “Heart Parade” in 2021 and a Canadian Folk Music Award in 2022. Splash’N Boots have created a global community dedicated to making every child feel seen, heard, and loved for exactly who they are.

With their hit TV show on Treehouse TV and Disney Jr. Canada, Splash’N Boots have appeared daily in over 8.5 million homes across Canada. They have also recently written and produced an episode for Sesame Street.

In addition to their own original music, Splash’N Boots have collaborated with a wide range of artists including Alice Cooper, Brett Kissel, Johnny Reid, Alan Doyle, Simon Ward of The Strumbellas, The Wiggles, and Sharon and Bram. Beyond their music, Splash’N Boots are committed to using their voice to raise awareness for important causes. EL SISTEMA AEOLIAN IS PART OF A GLOBAL MOVEMENT DESIGNED TO OFFER FREE UNIVERSAL ACCESS TO AN INTENSIVE COLLABORATIVE MUSIC PROGRAM.

There are millions of participants in over 80 countries and the program has spread across Canada quickly. Canadian Provincial and National Associations are forming. Our local program offers five days of instruction to our participants including orchestra, choir and piano lessons. Meals and snacks are also provided. Our participants give approximately 10-20 concerts per year in various settings. The children and youth of the El Sistema Aeolian program are excited to once again perform for a live audience at their Fall Concert on October 28, 2021. Seating is limited. While admission is by donation, tickets are required and must be presented upon entry. All guests must provide proof of full immunization for COVID-19 and photo identification before they enter the venue.

Since resuming face-to-face lessons, the children and youth of El Sistema Aeolian have been furiously working toward their next performance.  Like the Aeolian, they are limited to the “virtual” concert hall.  The December online presentation (the first of its kind for El Sistema Aeolian) was a success, and the young musicians are determined to make their Spring fling even better! Classes are already rehearsing and preparing to record their presentations in early April.

These performances will be edited and come together to create a complete El Sistema Aeolian Concert experience!  This free concert will premier on El Sistema and Aeolian's Facebook pages. Tickets are not required and you do not need to pre-register: just click and enjoy!

Featuring Jerry Granelli Trio & El Sistema Aeolian Children’s Choir In the 1960s, San Francisco-born drummer Jerry Granelli was a fixture on the Bay Area hard bop scene and in psychedelic sessions for such luminaries as Sly Stone.  Along with bassist Fred Marshall, he formed the rhythm section in the Vince Guaraldi Trio. In the spring of 1965, pianist Guaraldi was commissioned by CBS to write the music for an animated half-hour Christmas special featuring characters from Charles M. Schulz’s comic strip Peanuts. A Charlie Brown Christmas went on to become a triple-platinum holiday classic that still ranks in top Christmas album sales over five decades later. The soundtrack is in both the Grammy Hall of Fame and the Library of Congress National Recording Registry. The sole surviving member of the original recording group, Granelli (age 78 – born on December 30, 1940) joins bassist Simon Fisk and pianist Chris Gestrin to revisit the now legendary session in a live performance at Aeolian Hall with accompanying video from the original TV special. Of course, to fully present A Charlie Brown Christmas, you must have a children’s choir to sing the two signature tunes. For the London, Ontario show, the El Sistema Aeolian Children’s Choir will appear in the 75-minute production and will perform a short opening set. Since leaving the Vince Guaraldi Trio, Jerry Granelli has maintained a steady recording and performing schedule (with acclaimed work in the avant-garde jazz and free improv veins) as well as holding down various teaching positions, such as the director of jazz and popular music department at the Canadian Conservatory in Halifax, and co-founding (with Susan Hunter) the Atlantic Jazz Festival. In 2017 he released the album Dance Hall on the Montreal-based Justin Time label.

In her new show, the vibrant Anne-Lune's friend Balthazar comes to visit. The singer takes this opportunity to discuss self-confidence: what do I have to do to know my value and have better self-confidence?

Since 1978, Sharon Hampson and Bram Morrison have been pre-eminent in all aspects of family entertainment across North America as members of the trio “Sharon, Lois & Bram”. Together, the threesome produced over twenty recordings, beginning with their iconic 'One Elephant, Deux Elephants', three song-books, six national TV specials, sixty-five episodes of The Elephant Show, and fifty-two of Skinnamarink TV. They have appeared in every major concert hall in Canada, and many in the United States including Carnegie Hall, The Lincoln Center and the White House in Washington just to name a few. They have received countless awards, including Gold and Platinum Records and JUNO awards for Best Children’s Album. To date, they have sold over 3 million albums worldwide.

Sharon and Bram have carried on together since Lois Lillenstein stepped aside from performing live in 2000. This incarnation of one of North America’s most popular family acts ranges from a “sweet and simple” folksy duo performance to a larger production featuring members of the versatile Skinnamarink Band.

A Sharon and Bram show is a sing-along concert for the entire family, featuring such well-loved favourites as “She’ll Be Coming ‘Round the Mountain", “Five Little Monkeys", “One Elephant", “Tingalayo", and, of course, “Skinnamarink".
“We love singing with our audiences; the sound of families singing together and the expressions of delight on the faces of parents and children as they share the music, bring us deep satisfaction”, say Sharon and Bram.
Sharon and Bram, with Lois, have supported many social welfare programmes in Canada and the US, such as school breakfasts for learning, encouraging parents to inoculate their children and, internationally, as Goodwill Ambassadors for UNICEF in North and South America, for which they received the Danny Kaye Humanitarian Award.

For their years of work providing the best in participatory music for children and their families, Sharon and Bram have been inducted into The Order of Canada, the highest honour in the country.
