An Elvis Christmas is a salute to Elvis's album which has sold more than twenty million copies, making it the best - selling Christmas album in the United States, and on Planet Earth. That's no small feat, considering that holiday music spun by pop stars has become a genre unto itself in the ensuing decades. The arrival of winter at Graceland was always a special time of the year for Elvis. It meant the holiday season was fast approaching and the anticipation of all the fun things the season would bring, including decorating for Christmas opening Christmas presents with friends and family. Although his passion lay at the piano with fellow friends and musicians to sing classic traditional favourites and nod to his gospel roots. John D. Huston An actor of Métis heritage, John’s career has largely involved “culturally misappropriating the works and identities of dead white guys,” playing Tommy Douglas in Saskatchewan, Shakespeare in England, William Lyon MacKenzie in Toronto & Dickens throughout Canada. He was therefore delighted to play Louis Riel for the 50th anniversary production of The Trial of Louis Riel, Canada’s longest running dramatic presentation. John has also appeared in a well-review production on Canada’s Residential Schools: Civilised.

This year marks John’s 34th anniversary touring Dickens’ solo version of A Christmas Carol, a show he has performed over 750 times since 1992 at venues across Canada including The National Arts Centre, Theatre Passe Muraille & Ottawa’s Gladstone Theatre. In 2017, he was nominated as Best Actor for the 2016 theatre season by Ottawa’s Capital Critics’ Circle for his run of A Christmas Carol at Ottawa’s Gladstone Theatre.

Luke McMaster, celebrated as the champion of blue-eyed soul in Canada, has left an indelible mark on the music world. As a prolific songwriter, his talents have graced the works of chart-toppers like Rihanna and Nick Lachey. In 2018, he crafted brand-new treasures with that classic sound for legends such as Lamont Dozier of Motown and Rascal's founder Felix Cavaliere on the 'Icons Of Soul' album. His dedication to honoring the greats continued with the release of 'Songs Of Smokey' in 2020, a tribute to the legendary Smokey Robinson. The man himself, Smokey Robinson, praised Luke's rendition of the Miracles' 1965 classic, "Ooh Baby Baby," to his 1,000,000-plus followers on social media, saying, "Amazing job, Luke!" World AIDS day is December 1st and we reflect on lives lost and battles won.  At this time of global instability and erosion of 2SLGBTQ+AI rights in many part of the world, we want to send out our love and commitment to inspiring positive change with this program.  The Holiday Season can be such a source of joy for so many, but also a reminder to some of isolation and loss.

Our program presents music that soothes the soul with peace and reflection but also rejoices and celebrates the best of the season.
