RON JAMES - Not Nearly Done Yet!

With twenty-five years spent barrelling down endless strips of asphalt from coast to coast, RON JAMES, our nation's number one road warrior and newly minted senior citizen, is Not Nearly Done Yet! With his trademark poetically charged alliterative rants, performed with razor sharp timing, this award-winning comedian and best-selling author takes audiences on a marathon roller coaster ride in the language of laughs, charting a course through a politically polarized world out of whack.  From the micro to macro, he tackles everything from the dating woes of Baby Boomers, embattled public health care, aging parents, food fads, exercise addiction, nostalgia, information overload, tropical vacations gone awry, New Age divas, homelessness crisis, climate change, corporate monopolies and gambling ads in hockey, to the rise of AI's robot revolution. The comedian the Globe and Mail called, ‘a man of a million words and a million laughs', contemplates what really matters most in a culture beset by runaway consumption… and it is us. The preservation of humanity's humanity. ‘Everything else is just a spoiler on a Dodge Neon'.

"fits of helpless laughter" - Halifax Herald

"hysterically funny ... at the top of his game" - Toronto Star

"gut-busting, knee-slapping funny" - Ottawa Citizen

THE COMIC STRIPPERS

A Male Stripper Parody and Improv Comedy Show

Canadian Comedy Award Winners - Best Live Production

The Comic Strippers are a fictitious male stripper troupe, played by a cast of some of Canada’s best improvisational comedians. These guys try to be sexy… it just comes out funny. Constantly grooving and gyrating, in between scenes they banter with the crowd and perform their sexylarious twist on improv sketches. They sing, they “dance;” these guys are oiled up and ready to make you laugh. Women often say the most attractive thing about a man is his sense of humour - so ladies, these stripped-down comedians are sure to make your head explode. And not to worry, gentlemen, this is definitely a parody of male strippers. “A show suitable for both men and women… an entertaining ride where anything goes.” - Rip It Up Magazine

Semi-undressed and completely unscripted, The Comic Strippers take off their shirts and take on your suggestions to create a whole new genre of comedy.

WARNING: No extreme nudity, just extreme hilarity. A show for all genders… 19+ only

Fresh from sold out shows in Vegas, Australia and across Canada and Canadian Comedy Award Winners for Best Live Production, The Comic Strippers are:

Roman Danylo - For five seasons, Roman starred on CTV’s Comedy Inc. As a stand-up comedian, he has appeared on Just For Laughs and The Debaters.

Matt Martin

No stranger to the stage, or the pulpit, Rev. Matthew Martin has been an Anglican priest for eight years and has been impersonating Elvis since before he was six. A true performer, Martin was the headliner in the Drayton Entertainment production of Blue Suede Shoes in 2012, and was named the Grand Champion, of the non-professional category in 2010 for his tribute of the King of Rock and Roll in Collingwood, Ontario.

Martin finds his true passion however, in celebrating the King of Kings. Martin spends his vocation as Director of Mission at Luke's Place working with UWO Students, St. Luke’s Worshipping Community preaching the Gospel and as Associate Priest and Director of Community Engagement at St Aidan’s in London.

Although the pandemic has paused live performances, Martin is back and performing charitable concerts in and around London. Martin’s voice always captivates - whether he is singing a century-old religious hymn, a touching Christmas carol or an upbeat rock song, you can clearly see his soul in every performance.

Matt volunteers each year as the spiritual director at Camp Wendake, a camp for people living with HIV/AIDS. He has decided to dedicate his talent in support of Camp Wendake. All proceeds from this evening go to the camp.

Camp Wendake is a one-week residential camp program for people living with HIV, their families and caregivers. Camp Wendake is an amazing contradiction! People gather because of a common health concern but find freedom from focusing upon the disease for a brief time and find an opportunity to celebrate life in a community where HIV/AIDS in the norm. People may choose to attend camp in order to learn and share more about coping with their overall health and social issues. Or they may come for the rest and refreshment of a caring and understanding community.

Beyond their unparalleled musicality, each player possesses the creativity, good humour and love of performing that is the ensemble’s hallmark. In addition to a non-stop touring and recording schedule, Canadian Brass is continually innovating to expand the brass repertoire, satisfy and challenge a loyal fan base, and use new media to connect to audiences worldwide. Shut the Front Door: A Beckett Project Fundraiser

The Beckett Project presents, Shut the Front Door Improv , a hilarious troupe dedicated to performance, teaching, development, and the promotion of improvisational theatre. They bring awareness to a variety of local charitable organizations while mentoring and creating strong improvisers within the community.

On April 26th, 2018 Beckett Smith chose to leave this world. He was a funny, gentle and brilliant young man with a bright future ahead of him. Wise beyond his years, he had accomplished much in his short time with us. Beckett was passionate about technology, especially robotics and was dedicated to mentoring and teaching others. He believed people deserved to be treated respectfully and not judged for their beliefs. To honor his memory we created The Beckett Project. Its purpose is to sponsor and aid local educational and community initiatives that reflect Beckett’s passions and ideals.

Another passion of Beckett’s was animals. In honor of this, our 2019 beneficiary of choice is National Service Dogs, a Non - Profit Organization that empowers people to achieve their full potential with strategically trained and certified service dogs. Together we can help sponsor a CAI (Facility) Service Dog that will be placed within the London community.

Our event will begin at 7pm with complimentary hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar while you browse the raffle table and learn more about National Service Dogs. At 8PM we will sit to enjoy the hilarity!

Elvira Kurt

Camp Wendake is proud to host OUT and OUTSTANDING lesbian comic, Elvira Kurt. A Toronto native, and alumna of Second City, she has earned herself international recognition as a comic, actor, host and writer.

Growing up in Toronto, Elvira Kurt spent much of her time in front of the bathroom mirror delivering jokes. Her hairbrush doubled as a microphone. The only child of Hungarian immigrants, Kurt says her parents disapproved of her comedic aspirations. “Their whole thinking was, “We gave up everything to come to the new country, to the New World. So, you’re going to be a lawyer or a doctor – something that will allow you to take care of us as we get older,” she says. “You’re certainly not going to tell jokes for a living.”

Yet for 40 years, that’s exactly what she has done. On Friday, October 25, this internationally renowned comedienne will take to the Aeolian Hall stage to participate in a fundraiser for Camp Wendake.

Or they may come for the rest and refreshment of a caring and understanding community.

Begin the evening with free hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar whilst browsing through a wonderful array of silent and live auction items. At 8 pm, seat yourself to a hilarious evening with Elvira Kurt. Following that program, you will have a chance to finalize
